It's been a while since I've had anything of remote interest to say...but I promised not to quit, so here I am, actively NOT quitting!
Three (3) things I haven't quit this summer:
1) Growing my bangs out: I've NEVER successfully done this, in my entire life, and I vowed I'd do it this time without getting so frustrated that I grabbed dull kitchen scissors and ended the misery. And guess what? The exact thing I hoped would happen is happening - my hair is becoming less of a pain in the ass. WHAT???
b) Trying to eat right and lose 20 lbs: Check it out, 2 lbs. lost! I know, that's kinda nothing, but it puts be back below that number that really freaked me out. And it's where I was 2 years ago. I'll get there...and maybe I'll realize 20 lbs. could be a little excessive. All I know is that I don't want to wake up at age 45 realizing that I slowly gained 15 pounds out of sheer laziness. If it's only 2 pounds here and there, that'll do.
iii) MUSIC! Honestly! I actually played a show this summer, and picked up my guitar...and PLAYED it. Amazing, considering. It gave me that mini ass-kick I've been looking for, and I'm actually inspired to get back to it. That's not saying a WHOLE lot, because there are still no new songs to show for it. But I was onstage again, and it felt right. I know I need to get back there more often, and I actually feel like I WANT to for a change.
Now for the things I HAVE quit, for the time being:
ANY AND ALL FORMS OF EXERCISE.
Yeah, I know.

Why I'm Here
Here's my story, in a nutshell:
I'm kind of a quitter. My theory is that this is one of two things that happens when you're a little ball of stress as a child, then an adolescent, then a teenager. Some people become ambitious, and others become...well, lazy. I'd like to change that, at least a little. That's why I'm here.
One of my best friends just started a blog called Me On A Diet. This morning, I was rollerskating (you heard me correctly) and I thought, I need to copy Shaun. If he can publicly whip himself into shape - set his goals and then MAKE himself do it - then so can I. Right?
Maybe.
That's the thing about me: I start things, and I don't always finish them. I've quit just about every kind of lesson you can imagine...I've quit writing songs...I've quit recording them...I've quit ballet...I've quit the gym almost as often as I've joined it...Why? I don't know, but I have to quit.
I'm forcing myself to write down some thoughts so that by the end of 2010, I can say I've done a few of the things I wanted to do. That's why I'm here.
